ABOUT CRAFTCOFFEE.COM

We're coffee lovers based out of Brooklyn, New York. We have one simple mission: To bring you new, exciting coffee experiences every month.

Our Process

We start by hand-selecting premium coffees from small artisan roasters around the country. We gather up a group of industry experts and taste dozens of coffees. After some intense debates, only our absolute favorites make it into your monthly tasting box.

Our Beans

The coffee beans that we include in your coffee tasting box are not your regular grocery store varieties. These beans are painstakingly sourced and lovingly crafted into the perfect flavor profiles. Artisan hands and expert palates guide them into your cup. Coffee is a seasonal crop, and throghout the year we'll highlight the absolute best of what's available in season. One month you might be trying various Ethiopian varieties, while the next month might find you shifting your focus to Latin America.

Our Roasters

At CraftCoffee.com, we believe in our roasters and the quality product that they produce for you. We carefully select each month's selections from the best coffee roasters around the country. Some are tiny upstarts, fighting for a chance to change what coffee means to you. Some are award-wining micro-roasters who live on the vanguard of cuisine and culinary excellence. But each of them pours their heart and soul into their craft.

This site is our invitation to you. Exciting things are happening in the world of coffee, and now you can explore coffees like never before by purchasing our exclusive tasting box!

OUR FOUNDER

Michael Horn

Mike created CraftCoffee.com. He brews his Craft Coffees at home with a Hario V60 and a Hario Buono kettle, but mixes it up with a Chemex or Kalita Wave at the office. When not brewing drip coffees, Mike pulls espresso shots at home using a Rancilio Silvia espresso machine with a 21-gram basket and a bottomless portafilter. He grinds his Craft Coffees with a Mazzer Mini grinder. When Craft Coffee becomes a giant success, Mike promises to buy a Marzocco machine for his kitchen. Please help make that a reality!

Before Craft Coffee, Mike founded WhatIsFresh.com, which he also designed and developed. A month after launching, the New York Times wrote that "WhatIsFresh.com is the best guide to what is available in which Greenmarkets." Tasting Table says that "Horn's site brilliantly makes sense of the dozens of Greenmarkets scattered around Manhattan and Brooklyn." Before jumping headfirst into the Internets, Mike was a practicing corporate attorney in New York City.
